I want to introduce you guys to one of my favourite places on the planet. I’ve been meaning to write this blog for the longest time but I just never feel like what I’m saying does it justice. So I’m going to post what I’ve got and just hope you guys take my word for it.
If you like dogs & puppies or even if you don’t, click the link below to find out where I’m talking about (warning, heaps of dog photos below) 🙂
You already know that I love Bali, and you should also know that I love dogs & puppies so it makes sense that my favourite place is a dog shelter in Bali. Yep you read that right, I am talking about BARC – Bali Dog Adoption and Rehabilitation Centre.
I had the honour of visiting the shelter during my last Bali trip and was shown around by the lovely vet Dr Cari. If you’re heading to Bali, please add this to your to do list. The shelter is full of beautiful puppies & dogs and you can spend as long as you like cuddling them all.
BARC provide not only shelter but food, medicine and so much love for all the puppies & dogs that come into their care. They also focus on education and sterilisation (a big issue in Bali) to try and help reduce the number of puppies being born on the streets.
My heart was so full from the second I arrived at the shelter (located in Ubud) and I cannot wait to go back and spend more time there. If any of you want to help the puppies, dogs & shelter you can do so in the following ways (every little bit helps, even $10 goes as far as treating one puppies skin condition):
You can donate to the BARC my cause here.
You can donate on the BARC website here.
You can buy from the BARC store here (check out the calendar for photos of cute men with the puppies).
If you want to volunteer or visit the shelter you can find out more info here.

Oh and just so you know this post isn’t sponsored or anything, this is just something thats really special to me.
Have you visited BARC before? Let me know about your visit in the comments below 🙂
