If you’ve ever looked through Instagram to find accomodation in Bali, chances are you would’ve come across the Colony Hotel. For years I’ve seen so many beautiful photos from the Colony, but for some reason I had never managed to stay there. Finally, on what must be my 9th trip to Bali I got to spend 4 nights in the cutest hotel ever, click below to read my review on the Colony Hotel, Bali.
It’s always nice to walk out of an airport and have someone waiting for you, which is why I took advantage of the Colony Hotel’s airport pickup. For 200,000 rupiah (about $20AUD) I had a driver pick me up and take me back to the hotel. Airport transfers are always slightly more expensive when you book through a hotel, rather than getting a taxi buuuut when you’re tired & hungry after flying sometimes its nice to not worry about having to negotiate with the multiple cab drivers waiting as you exit the airport.
The Colony Hotel is located right in the centre of Seminyak, it’s in the perfect location. You can literally walk to all the cult favourites in minutes. If you’ve never stayed in Seminyak before, take it from me, you should! It’s so much nicer than Kuta, its still busy and there’s tons of shops, bars and places to eat there, its just got such a good vibe. The Colony is located behind Urchin and pretty much next door to Sea Circus, and if you don’t know where those are located its about a 30 second walk from Mexicola (which everyone knows).
The hotel is super cute, the lobby and cafe are at the front of the hotel, with the rooms wrapping around the pool thats in the centre. Not going to lie, its like they designed this hotel for Instagram photos, it just looks SO good. This next sentence may offend some people, but I loved that this hotel was child free. There are only about 20 rooms at the hotel so it always seemed fairly quiet, there were usually people by or in the pool, however given they were adults it always seemed so relaxed.
I stayed in a “deluxe room” which felt big for a hotel room and I was more than comfortable for my 4 night stay. The bathroom was massive and featured a ton of marble which I love. I had breakfast down by the pool every day – rather than it being a buffet you can just order whatever you feel like and it is made fresh for you. There was a big selection ranging from eggs to pancakes to Indonesian meals as well as croissants and pastries.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Colony Hotel and I’ll definitely be back 🙂 If you’d like to book or find out more info you can visit the Colony Hotel website here.
