The IZE is a modern hotel based in the heart of Seminyak. I’ve walked past this hotel numerous times on previous trips, however this was my first time staying here. You can’t miss the IZE, it’s architecture makes it stand out from the street, if you’ve ever walked around Seminyak you’ve probably seen it before! If you’d like to read my review and what I got up to there click the link below 🙂
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the different locations in Bali, I have to say that Seminyak is by far my favourite place to stay. It’s quieter than Kuta, but it’s still close enough to get a quick cab or walk in if you can handle the heat. There are so many restaurants and cafes (including cult favourites Motel Mexicola & Sea Circus) to eat and drink at, as well as what I think is some of the best shopping in Bali. The IZE is located right in the center of Seminyak, with a short walk to the beach or Seminyak Square.
We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with a jacuzzi, which was a nice addition to have in a hotel room. You could also conveniently watch the tv whilst in the jacuzzi, massive bonus :). The room was generous with large mirrors everywhere and even a little balcony. The bed was really comfy, and the pillows were amazing (I usually think hotel pillows are terrible). For a hotel the rooms were really quiet and we couldn’t hear people moving around in the hallways which made the stay even more relaxing.
There are two pools, however you must be staying in the deluxe pool rooms to use the pool on the ground floor. The main pool is located on the rooftop overlooking Seminyak. When you reach the top floor you’ll see the infinity pool surround by comfy white lounges and sunbaking beds. Here you will also find Single Malt, a whiskey and cocktail bar. When we arrived it was 2 for 1 mojitos so we both tried the bars recommendation of a coconut mojito, we were not disappointed. You are also able to have food delivered to you by the pool, making it super easy to spend the day up there.
The hotel has a gym for those looking to exercise whilst on holiday, it also has a library with computers offering free internet access. There is no spa on site however the hotel provide complimentary transfers to sister hotel, The Amala for those wishing to treat themselves.
At the front of the hotel is the Meja resturant, which we decided to eat at the first night. With a combination of Indonesian and Western food the menu has something for everyone. We ordered the chicken satay, chicken pesto pasta and the lobster. The food was beyond yum, I highly recommend the chicken pesto pasta, it was one of my favourite meals from my entire trip. The resturant was busy as it’s not just for hotel guests, you also have the option to dine inside or outside. Out front there was a singer playing guitar and doing covers of everyone’s favourite songs (he even did a Taylor Swift song) this gave the restaurant a really cool and chilled out vibe. This is also where you can have breakfast, with the restaurant offering a buffet or a continental menu you can order from.
