My first Q&A, how exciting 🙂
You guys have been sending me questions via my social media asking me all about my trip, so I figured I would post everything here in one big blog update!
Did you sign up with a travel group? Question from @royalread710
Yes! I’m traveling solo so thought doing group tours would be the best option. All three tours were via Contiki.
How did you keep your valuables safe? Question from @krumble
Instead of having a backpack, I had an over the shoulder bag. I made sure my bag had zips and could close properly to avoid being pick pocketed. I have two travel money cards that I’ve kept separate incase one gets stolen. You just also have to be aware of your surroundings at all times 🙂
What was your favourite city and why? Question from @juliamateian
That’s tough! I loved Venice, I just thought it was so pretty and beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like it. All the buildings and canals, it was amazing! I wish I could’ve spent more time there!
Best people you met on your trip? Question from @jessgesthuizen
You of course :p I’ve been lucky enough to meet quite a few people that I would love to stay friends with, which is really nice!
It is unsafe to travel alone as a blonde female in some countries compared to where you’re at now, Amsterdam? Question from @thomasfalkenstedt
To be honest I haven’t really been alone, so it hasn’t impacted my trip. But yep some countries are definitely more dangerous than others, just have to do your research!
Any sightseeing tips? Question from @anotherdayofglam
Do your research before you go to a particular country, so you can plan what you want to do. Most things in Europe seem to be quieter in the morning, so try to get up early. And buy a battery pack for your phone so it doesn’t die half way through the day!
Have you missed me? Question from @krumble
Nup, you smell. Jokes, missing you tonnes!
What was your most memorable moment? Question from @dowell.george
Paragliding in Austria was definitely a highlight. It was pretty scary to begin with but I’m SO glad I did it!
Did you get Contiki cough? Question from snapchat
Yes! It’s the worst cough, I’ve had it for about 4 weeks! I’ve been through so much cough medicine and it hasn’t helped. I’ve finally managed to get my hands on some antibiotics so hopefully that gets rid of it.
How did you overcome being homesick? Question from @krumble
For me I just kept myself busy! I’ve been speaking to friends & family often, but also making sure I’m enjoying myself over here. I think it’s impossible to avoid feeling homesick especially when you’re tired or unwell. It’s just part of traveling and you have to push through 🙂
Any other questions guys? Feel free to leave them below 🙂
